**A nice, clear "open-foot-close"-hihat sound**

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6tyg7V0Cu8 40 seconds in it's played the first time in that song.

**A snappy snare**

Like in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lpujDkJWs8 (generally cool drums in that song). The main point is a sound that's very snappy, and not so much the almost tom-like "round" sound that some snares can have.
